If it doesn't recurve (slim chance IMO), the models'll all pick up on it at once and they'll slingshot west all of a sudden.

It would literally be the worst case scenario. Everyone's all relaxed in New England, expecting this cat 3-4 monster to fly by to the east, then all of a sudden, 2ish days out, they find out otherwise.

I still think it'll recurve and smash into Nova Scotia. The longwave trough'll weaken, yes, but not enough to allow for a CONUS landfall.
