a CNN Int'l meteorologist said earlier that the reports of wave height worried him, as the American Samoa tsunami had less than half the height they were reporting earlier. He said that while 7 ft sounds not very high, that once the tsunami gets into shallow water, the wave height increases, as the depth of the water decreases - he sounded genuinely alarmed at a 7 ft height, as measured in the open ocean.
