Yes.
I have seen it before.
When there are two close by LLCs, they compete for the boundary-layer theta-e air which is their in-feed.
One ends up winning over the other.
The stronger one cuts off the inflow to the weaker one and kills it.
That is what appears to me what is happening in the Carib now.
One broad circulation is organizing itself.
Since it is broad, it takes time due to angular inertia.
