Alex and 95L have pushed lots of gulf water inland. Most of our boat docks here in south Louisiana are under water right now. Lake Ponchatrain is full of water from Mississippi Sound right now. Lake Maurepas is full of water from Lake Ponchatrain and we on the tidal rivers are full of water from the lakes. We had lots of fresh water filling our waterways prior to this. The next time we get a west wind all of this will run out to the gulf. The next system will refill us with gulf water. That could bring in more oil to the inland areas that haven't seen it yet. |
