I understand your post Jack and fully agree with you. I think all of us that study weather are anxiously waiting for the hell that can be unleashed upon us. I myself have this gut wrenching feeling that this year maybe the worst. I lived in Florida in 2004-2005 and have my own stories that I could tell. We all look back each year and only remember the big canes that wrecked havoc on many people. We really remember the canes that affected us personally. I think 2004 was worst than 2005 because we had the same number of major canes. The only difference was Katrina and the levees that broke in New orleans. We can have 25 named storms this year or whatever, but if there not major storms that hit metro area's it's a slow year. We all look for the big ones, thats what sells the news. I think all the long range forecasts are hogwash and all that matters is the major canes. So if we have 4 or 5 majors this year that hit the US, it will be like 2004-2005. There is the one exception this year a major hitting the US somewhere in the Gulf. It is on everyone's mind and the worst case senerio is possible. We all will find out very soon. This year can't be compared to any other year because it's already a disaster. If we have no Major canes in the Gulf we will all be winners. So we all wait for all hell to brake loose, but i hope not.
