| Global models are good for the patterns, the big scale stuff. If a small scale feature comes along and can't take advantage, the pattern may still be in place if the next feature is able to take advantage. That seems to happen a lot with waves getting sacrificed to the SAL for others down the road to have something more to work with and find a pattern that may not be so different than what the leading wave may have had if it survived. We are far enough along in the season now that TD6 did not end up sacrificing itself for a wave behind it. TD6 was fairly dry but is slowly filling in some around the center. Meanwhile, all the stuff behind it is ready for the prime of the season. |
