Jake... I don't see a significant shift in the 12Z models. That doesn't mean that Labor Day weekend won't be interesting. It just means that the models still call for Earl to recurve out to sea. They all have Earl closer to the US than Danielle, but they always did. Once again, the GFS is closer to the US coast than the Euro. The GFS has Earl between Bermuda and N.Carolina. Also, the deep trough that the Euro has on the east coast Labor Day weekend, also looks to recurve Fiona. Until a semi-permanent upper ridge develops over the east coast, and not just the weak temporary ridging that moves in between two troughs, these Cape Verde storms are going to have a hard time hitting the east coast. Bermuda, however, is another story. |
