I'm not sure. I'm not sure if that is special or if that is the normal radar. I would assume the standard radar could take slices at a few different angles, but maybe not and this something special. Or maybe they normally have it set for a specific angle and on this particular research mission they will get slices at different angles. I assume that is what is meant by 3D.
