My former proffessor was discussing the entire theory of kelvin waves during tropical discussion and he too believes a system could pop up next week in the carb based on his analysis. He was showing a correlation between kelvin waves and their ability to influence areas of convection. Fascinating stuff. He was on TWC the other day as well discussing Kelvin waves disucssing Earl. He was telling me today that he thinks after Julia that conditions may become unfavorable in the EATL and more promising in the WPAC. I don't fully understand these concepts yet, but have a basic understanding... its grad level type material for the most part (in depth, anyhow) and so I'm still learning about them myself but when I asked him about this season last semester he hit the nail pretty much on the head with what was going to happen... annoying number of TUTS excluded. LOL!

Goes to show you theres so much still to learn in this field called "Atmospheric Science"
