I basically understand what you're saying but I believe you meant "mankind" and not "evolution." (Our planet and universe will continue evolving for billions of years, with our without us.)
I don't know what "the club" is; but it sounds a reference to the perennial "they" that so many speak of when discussing conspiratorial groups.
I look at it this way:
1.) In all likelihood, there is no "they.'
2.) In the remote chance there actually is a "they" who are out to destroy me or my lifestyle, "they" will probably fail. (Perhaps unified consciousness will stop them? (Read further for an explanation of that.)
3.) In the ever so remote chance "they" set out to destroy me and succeed....oh well, tough titties for me! It's not like I'm able to stop "them."
I mean really now; what kind of "plot" would so destroy the masses while leaving the masters intact? And what pray tell would be the benefit?
The masses are in fact at times "destroyed" but it does little to help the masters in the long run. What did Nazism do for Germany? What do economic collapses do for the wealthy class? (They often result in revolutions with the wealthy getting their heads chopped off.)
In effect, there actually IS a mass consciousness. But it's not through any magical process or high-level physics; it's a function of mathematics (that describes for example, the movement of markets.) The world is just too complex for an elite few to control six billion people. Mathematics suggest it's the other way around.
On another note, just for fun, you might enjoy reading up on neuroscience. There's a great deal of new knowledge on our thinking processes; it's quite interesting!
