Or the shear from the trough could create another Tropical Storm Chris (2006). Predicted to be a hurricane and it dissipated.
Emily has the same odds right now. She's either going to beat the odds in one way and become a hurricane or suffer Chris' fate. I don't think there is any in between.
As far as direction, she is continuing to move at a good clip, on pretty solid WNW heading. The trough is bulging right now southeastward.
Let's see who wins this game of chicken. |
