I completely agree. It seems to me that recent hurricane seasons--say the past 5 years or so--have been characterized by a conspicuous abundance of ULLs. I'd love to see some data on whether, in fact, upper-level lows have been more abundant than usual in recent seasons, and some conclusions as to why that might be. Seems to me they have been, and it's creating a particularly harsh upper-level environment for development. And that's perfectly OK with me as someone who just moved back to coastal Florida! |
