So glad you checked in, Alligator, and thank you for the update. It sounds as if you've made the best plans possible, and I wish you all the best. The only suggestion I would make, if you can possibly do it, is to extend your hotel reservations now for at least two weeks. This is based on our experience after Hurricane Ivan, a Cat. 3 that hit near Pensacola Beach in 2004, when we were unable to get back on the island for two weeks, our home was unlivable, and all hotels nearby were jammed to the hilt with other evacuees, utility workers, tree trimmers, etc. You can always cancel!!
I know that doesn't help as to your sister and friend, but one thing at a time.
Not sure what we're going to do here -- read my verbose epistle in Mark's thread if you have time.
If/when you figure out that "safer and saner" place to call home, would you let me know where it is? |
