Confirm or debunk??

An acquaintance of mine who lives in Panama City (not the beach) and who just had the interior of her newly purchased home trashed by Michael, wrote to another friend during the storm to say that winds were 200 knots. I know not where she got that info, and I wrote the other friend back to say that was probably a mistake of some sort.
Well, today the other friend emailed to say, "I just listenend to CNN weather. There is a condition of swirling winds inside the eye wall of the hurrican. It creates a tornado. They calculated 200 mph."
Is that a thing?? I'd never heard that. Hope someone here who knows for sure can enlighten me/us. Thanks in advance! |
