Thanks for posting this link I did a copy & paste from my facebook here it is. I finally watched this as I missed it the other night . The idea of pumps & raising is absurd in order to raise all the roads would have to be elevated several feet . By doing this you are creating more flooding via runoff when it rains so then basically every building has to be raised & in multi story building 1st floors unusable. Pumping water out is ridiculous like have a huge hole in your boat & using buckets to empty the water which is coming right back in. I often fix sink holes under asphalt which is happening more frequently . When he showed the limerock & poured water over it showing it going right through I was like YUP . Some places along the intracoastal waterway I fix sink holes & can see the water seeping through the subgrade under the lime rock. We fill it with more lime rock & repave but seriously long term the asphalt is doomed. The only logical long term solution is relocation further north & when I say further north I am talking Palm bch county north which sits on a ridge well above sea level. South Florida as we know it will be under water & unlivable and that includes most of Broward especially out west ,I don't give a crap what any developer tells us all they care about is the money and it's all going under, the only question is how quickly? . |
