I typed this before and hadn't had a chance to post yet.
I kept a supply of cans of spaghetti & meatballs and ravioli. I bought 12 more cans today. I only have them in case of a hurricane. As they expire, or maybe within a few years of that, I eat them. The ones I got today don't expire for two years and it's really a best if used by date anyway.
I bought lots of various things, like Chex Mix, crackers and chips. Also bought some soup too. I probably also have 50 or more bottles of Gatorade which I had already got when it as on sale. I have a closet that is just empty apple juice bottles and Gatorade. I can fill up many dozens of the old apple juice bottles for water if needed. Technically I think they say don't use juice bottles, but I did rinse them out when I got done with each. I won't fill those unless needed.
One store, Aldis, was out of bread, but it might have been because it was on sale. We got some at Save-a-lot. They had a few loaves left of cheap slice bread and still had more expensive ones.
The CVS I went to had a lot of water. A Dollar Tree had a little bit.
Publix really had a lot of water:
With a limit:
But then across the street at Walmart:
On the local news another Walmart was like that in the morning and by the afternoon they had more, allowing you to buy two cases.
Got gas today too, although I didn't need too much.
Starting putting ice cubes in bags just in case the power goes out and I need ice.
I'll help a neighbor move some furniture and other items that are outside tomorrow. I'll wait on mine. I have patio furniture and a lot of flower pots. Bird bath, wind chimes and a BBQ grill too. This time I'll remove the lid on my air conditioner outside so it doesn't get partly ripped off like last time.
If it looks like it was coming right across the state just south of me, there is a very large east facing window I might board up. And if it were to look like it is going to hook around the state, I would evacuate. If coming across the state, I think it would have to stall to maybe flood me at about 8 to 8.5 feet above sea level. Also depending on its size. |
