Sites with model data - O/T

I keep that one on the page because that really was the first that I can remember I think. I can't remember if Weather Underground had some at the time. I probably saw the SFWMD model images and wanted them dynamic so that I could toggle them on and off and then also add the rest of the models that they didn't show.
Some I haven't added yet and will likely add most:
http://products.hfip.org/nhc-display/ https://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/gc_wmb/vxt/HWRF/index.php https://www.weathernerds.org/models/ https://www.windy.com/ https://www.ventusky.com/ https://earth.nullschool.net/ http://wxmaps.org/hurpot.php https://weather.rap.ucar.edu/model/
I still need to link to this page better: https://www.fnmoc.navy.mil/wxmap_cgi/ (you can safely bypass the security warning since you aren't entering personal information onto the site) I need to research NAVGEM and NUOPC (National Unified Operational Prediction Capability) better because some sites reference FNMOC but don't say whether they mean NAVGEM or NUOPC.
There are also some premium sites for which some have some data that is free, but some of the other content you have to pay for.
https://weather.us/model-charts https://www.pivotalweather.com/model.php https://maps.weatherbell.com/ http://wright-weather.com/
Not linking to them directly since you have to pay in part.
I have a list of many hundreds of links to various weather things, but those are some on my list that I don't think I link to yet. I just removed some of the links from my big list because some were so old the model sites no longer exist or haven't been updated for many, many years.
I happened to go back looking at some raw model data I was going to use for later and found that in the past week or two data worldwide, for basins that aren't the Atlantic, East Pacific and Central Pacific, JTWC data no longer exists here:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/ATCF/JTWC/
But then again the NHC ATCF data that was mirrored there is also gone:
https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/ATCF/NHC/
But some of the content on that site has been moved or no longer exists. They finally removed the old floater page: https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/floaters.html But they still do some of what they do elsewhere on the site: https://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/
Up until near the end of last month the JTWC and NHC data was on the sites above but now it's blocked. At some point if it doesn't come back I am going to email them. For whatever reason, the Navy considers their model data to be too sensitive to release publicly. It's always been blocked here for the most part:
https://www.nrlmry.navy.mil/atcf_web/docs/current_storms/
Though you can view the current storms file:
https://www.nrlmry.navy.mil/atcf_web/docs/current_storms/storms.jtwc_atcfp2
That's why I never had data worldwide on my site. But that data on the NOAA site had been around for so long I was going to try to add it later this year. Now I likely won't.
This site had some data, but not as much as I thought they did:
http://hurricanes.ral.ucar.edu/realtime/current/ http://hurricanes.ral.ucar.edu/repository/data/
When it comes to worldwide storms. Some of the data they might get from model suites and then make it into their own raw model data files, I don't know. I always thought they had some connection where they somehow managed to get JTWC model data.
And some other sites I saw failed, perhaps when that NOAA site stopped being available. Oh well. Just for the fun of it, I might just email the JTWC one day and see what they say. |
