TexMesoNet has a good site to view total rainfall at a glance, albeit a bit of a learning curve

https://www.texmesonet.org/#

you can choose "1 week precipitation" for the local gages, but only up to " 72 hours" for the background image, uses NWS info for that info

I have been following the IEMBot Monitor from Iowa state for HGX & it recentlyposted a delayed report from the 3rd:
2 SSW Highlands, TX Valid: 5/3 11:15 PM (04:15Z)
Source: Coast Guard
Type: FLOOD
Remark: Tow Vessel SYDNI C sunk just south of Interstate 10 at the mouth of the San Jacinto River. Cause has not been determined, though preliminary thinking is that strong currents from river flooding may have played a part. One person onboard taken to the hospital, uninjured.

no telling what will be discovered once floodwaters recede, but there are a lot of good people out there putting their lives at risk to help others

<3 look for the helpers... as Mister Rodgers famously told the children <3
