Open concept must be popular. When some new houses were built several years ago on some land next to my neighborhood where they put a small neighborhood of around a dozen houses and some condos, I went over and looked at the model home they had there out of curiosity. It was like one giant room. Bedrooms had doors, but everything else was very open and very bright. A house across the street from me that was bought and remodeled took out multiple walls and made it into an open concept, with just the bedrooms with doors still. I guess I do like open concept actually, but didn't really think about the drawbacks. Sometimes it would be nice to warm or cool less if we could close some doors, though I think maybe you're not supposed to close off an area too much maybe.
