Most people in this country still probably don't have much of a clue about what's currently happening in this country. America is going to be a different country in four years. Within a few generations we'll probably get to a point where America rebuilds most of the trust we will have lost, but it's going to be a long, dark road. Sadly, we'll never recover fully. Hundreds of years from now, if there is still an America, they'll look back at this period and still won't be able to describe what the hell went wrong. That assumes we recover somewhat by then. I'll be hopeful and say we will within a few generations. You can't take back trying to storm the Capitol on January 6th, pardoning murders and saying you are going to take countries simply because you want them. (every day it's a new country, today's its Gaza so his son-in-law can build condos I imagine) That's in the history books. They might be writing the history books if democracy loses, but assuming it hangs on, the stain will never go away. Plus, there's video, so kind of hard to hide it, but China has found a way to hide it quite a bit, so they might use that model. Germany recovered. We will too. I thought maybe we could have learned that sometimes dictators start by being democratically elected. But I also recall that most people don't know that the German guy got elected, democratically. Then he just didn't leave. Not that I know a lot about history, but I'm guessing the Germans didn't have as many clues about how evil he would be. The American guy shouted it out every day on social media and his rallies. Unfortunately Germany might get taken over by those folks again, so we'll have to understand that the process to keeping a democracy is a long one. It never ends. "A republic, if you can keep it". And this is my positive take on things, lol. I've been waiting for what will happen to NOAA. I kind of expect any data they release to go away. Or be something you have to pay for, which I won't. Google is giving less free map loads in March, so I likely will remove them off my site this hurricane season and only have then at HurricaneCity. I need to redo the maps to be at ArcGIS or something else, but just haven't gotten around to it. Too busy watching the world I guess. The American guy is just openly saying which countries America is going to take, so sadly there's just so much to cover that a lot of things are just going to be ignored. That's the current strategy. Destroy absolutely everything so that no one can get a handle on it very well and everyone just tunes out. We have planes already taking people to Guantanamo Bay and El Salvador offering not just to take criminals that aren't citizens, but even Americans. Even the American guy isn't sure that would fly. But I'm sure they'll give it a whirl. And why stop at criminals? They want to lock up anyone that doesn't agree with them. I got called for jury duty in March. When they get around to asking if you can be impartial, they're in for a fun spiel from me if they have questions about why I'm saying no. The justice system is collapsing before our eyes and I can't be impartial unless I have independently researched everyone involved in any case to make sure there isn't some ulterior motive to the king. I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to go looking up the details on any case. From local, state to federal, there may still be a lot of trustworthy people, but it's only a matter of time before the current administration finds them and fires them. The Supreme Court thinks the president can do whatever he wants essentially, as an official act can be anything. There will not be fairness in the justice system while the American guy is ruling, so unless it was a really serious case, I wouldn't want to put anyone into the justice system right now. It might be a political enemy someone wanted to get rid of and gets them found guilty based on lies. And then next thing you know, they could literally be in jail in a foreign country. Even they probably can't get away with that, unless they're not an American citizen, but it's the thought that counts. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the warmer weather. I'm enjoying the weather until climate change wreaks more havoc. The world is so f*cked up right now. I could look forward to the Superbowl, but the American guy will be there, so I might not even watch. His job is to ruin everything apparently, so why not. And we haven't even gotten to egg prices yet. But he was supposed to lower them! I have a feeling he will. Stop killing the chickens. That would solve that permanently. Well, permanently until bird flu runs rampant, mutates and then we hide/ignore it as it would then be able to spread among humans and he won't want to look bad. Then the rest of the world will hopefully shut their doors to us to hopefully keep it contained. (likely not) But I'm sure three letter initial guy who is the nephew of a real American president who cared in the 60s will save the day since he is so, so vaccine friendly. As of days ago. For a few minutes at least, rather unconvincingly. But enough to get out of committee. I'm having fun working on website stuff right now. It's a nice distraction from, ya know, the world.
