What I mean to say is that after these marathon sessions, sometimes I feel like I've been hoodwinked into thinking I understand more than I actually do.

When the wheels come off a forecast, for example, I just want to know why, why, why in a different way than I had just been asking why, why, why as a system was on its way.

I don't regret spending time on the hobby, but in cases like this one, find it a bit unsatisfying because of how the system got choked off by dry air that no one saw coming or has stepped in and said, "Ah-ha! Here's precisely where things went wrong with intensity forecasting". Instead, just left to sulk with the pat answer of "intensity forecasting is just not there yet in relation to track forecasting".

Still, always has been, and probably always will be, a lifelong obsession.
