GUILTY - I have a life long fascination with hurricanes, being a native resident of Houston Tx.  I view out of fascination AND concern for those who are being threatened and I also view out of necessity of my area being threatened.  I am also fascinated by any breaking news/current event as I like to be a witness to history (I guess).

I am continually amazed at the various weather features that come together to make form a hurricane.  And how no two are exactly alike.  Though we somehow always try to compare them to prior hurricanes.

I happened to be out of town in the country when this was going on so I did not have full access to internet and Jim's broadcast.  But typically I would focus on Hurricane City, Jim's broadcast, Canetalk, the chat room and occasional glances at CNN & Weather Channel.

I love the interaction of Canetalk, chat room and Jim's show.

With the internet and the 24 hour news cycle you can view continuous coverage.

A couple of new things for me this year in monitoring hurricanes & their coverage are Ustream as I did later discover that I could watch Jim's show on Ustream app for my cell phone; The scanner app on my phone; and Twitter for breaking news.  So I am always "plugged in".  Unless my phone dies. :)
