That's because 6Z and 18Z don't have fresh data initalized within these model runs. Look how good forecasting was overall with the track of Irene thanks to fresh model data along the east coast for those days prior to her treck up the east coast because we had 4 balloon launches a day.

Meanwhile they wanna cut funding...

Do you know my professor was at a congressional hearing this past year and was there to put input on whether or not they could cut baloon launches from 2 a day to once a day? LMAO. Needless to say I'd hate to be those people scolded by him at that meeting/hearing whatever it was LOL
