Maybe we will have to wait for post season analysis to get the scoop.  I also have never seen a storm with pressure that stubbornly low and winds which didn't seem to correspond.   Meteorologically speaking, that was a strange hurricane.  I wonder if it didn't start to transition to extra-trop earlier than we were lead to believe.  If NHC started talking about a hybrid storm instead of a terrifying hurricane would the NE have taken it so seriously?
