Re: Jim has suspended tropical update videos (other than for hurricanes threatening land)

I have lived along "hurricane alley"  between Georgetown, SC and  Wilmington, NC since 1974. Today home is near Surfside Beach, SC.

I remember well 1989 when CAT 4 Hurricane Hugo visited our area. At that time internet access was very limited....we only had The Weather Channel along with local TV stations and radio to keep abreast of where Hugo was headed.

Today I keep updated on tropical storm activity via the internet and from various sources. One source however that I have come to depend on is 'Hurricane City' Here I can find dependable information...up to date information....that assists keeping my wife and I safe.

I understand clearly the decision to suspend the tropical update videos. However I for one will miss the updates terribly. As a senior citizen I do not participate in Twitter and other social medial platforms...... finding it personally a waste of time.

We appreciate the information that can be found here and will keep checking in daily during hurricane season.

If you prefer to embed something manually for any of these sites, you can also do that. For Ustream, you can only embed live videos manually rather than using the above feature. No other sites are currently supported.

If you embed something manually please be aware that due to the security restrictions on some browsers manually entering embedded code may not allow it to appear correctly when you view it. However, after you post the message it will work properly. This will not be a problem if you use the above feature to add embedded content.
