I'm evacuating

If center moved west of Tampa it would be bad, lots of surge even if it didn't make landfall near here, unless it really, really moved west.

I'm evacuating north, likely out of the state. It might take forever, but I didn't want to go to a former neighbor's house in case they might want to evacuate. Other plans were less than ideal. This way, I don't have to be out of contact with family. My grandmother worries and she's 95.

I'll either be in Lawrenceburg, TN (grandmother) or Dothan, AL (sister). My uncle is in Destin this week and invited us to stay there, but I'd rather get north of there even. (or we might stop there overnight, I don't know) I'll likely just visit my grandmother eventually and come back if and when we can. So I'm signing off. I don't have a cell phone so I'll be out of contact for awhile. It might be Sunday night. If I get to Dothan, AL I'll try to remember to use my sister's computer to check in. Or even my uncle's if there.

Good luck everybody. Stay safe. Don't count on Cuba to weaken this thing significantly or for it not to strengthen later. East and west of the cone, be safe. Get to higher ground. As for wind, be in an interior room away from windows if you can.

I'm just not taking a chance with Irma.
