If you order food from Walmart and have issues getting a Walmart pickup time...

If you have trouble getting a Walmart pickup time (where they shop for you and bring the items to the parking space you are in) or delivery time (home delivery), you can go online at 12am EDT when they add the times for the next day. (not sure if other time zones are different)

I went online at 12am EDT Monday morning and had a selection of times for Tuesday at the stores that have pickup and delivery near me. You used to be able to select times much further in advance, but they have shortened that to the current day or the next day. You'll never get something for the same day.

There is a $30 minimum for the order.

Only some stores have pickup and delivery. And delivery availability depends on where you live.

Delivery for their grocery items through:
https://grocery.walmart.com/
Is not delivered via the mail. It's delivered at a specific time from the store, so you can get perishable items.

Pickup is free. They shop for you and deliver the items to your car. Delivery to your house costs money. (Based on the time, the prices ranged from $7.95 to $9.95 for me)

You have an hour to checkout once you get a pickup or delivery time or you lose that time.

Once you create your account you can save items to your favorites for the future. (click the heart icon) You can also do the same for your shopping cart, you can sign out and come back later. So you could select items in your shopping cart earlier in the day and then get the pickup or delivery time at 12am.

There are a lot of things that they are out of stock of. You just have to get what you can get if you shop this way. You may select a lot of things that are then not available at the time you want to checkout. And of course by the pickup or delivery time, they may be out of stock for a bunch of different items.

Here is what they say about "Can you substitute items that are not available at the store?":
https://wmt-grocery.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1749/

- At checkout, you have the option to allow substitutions in the event that an item is unavailable at the store.
- You can choose which items you would and which items you would not like to have substituted.
- If you decide not to accept substitutions, unavailable items will be removed from your order and you will not be charged for those items.
- We recommend that you allow substitutions on every Walmart Online Grocery order. If your item is substituted, you will only be charged for the lower priced item.
- If you are unhappy with a substitution, please contact Walmart Grocery Customer Care at (800) 924 9206.

I haven't seen how that works yet.

Changes to your order can be made at any point before your cutoff time, when we transmit your order to the store so they can begin picking your order.

To change your order, sign in, click Your Account, and then Recent Orders.

- To update your pickup or delivery timeslot, click Change Time.
- To increase, decrease, or remove items or to update your substitution preferences, click Edit Items.
- To add more items to your order, click Keep Shopping, add items to your cart, and complete checkout. Your bank statement will reflect a second authorization amount which may vary depending on the item weight and/or type.

Unfortunately, changes cannot be made after your cutoff time.

I don't know what the cutoff time is, but maybe you could change your order shortly before that if you see something you want that is then in stock that wasn't before. Or remove something that isn't in stock that seemed to be before. (though you could have already selected a substitution) No idea how that all works.

I haven't tried it yet. I was only seeing how it would work, especially on how best to get a time.

As for those shopping in person who are older:
