Chicago, Tornado Alley, and - Charleston???

I wonder if Chicago is too far "West" for HB to have the same effect on it's weather.
Also, you would *think* that there would be (Lord forbid) more severe weather in Tornado Alley if there would be this continuation of Spring we seem to be experiencing now.
I have also noticed that it has been rather cool (relatively speaking) in the Charleston area this year. Typically, we are SWELTERING by now. Instead, it has only been "Bloody Hot."
I just don't know what to say (without being FLAMED).
This is the darndest year....
