Ouch, Chris! We have had similar experiences, but with far less damage per event.
We no longer use the strips for our "important" stuff (have replaced too many computers, phones, televisions, etc. to believe those work.)
Instead, we use the battery back-up types...quite heavy and somewhat expensive, but they work. They have outlets for phone and cable, too. Of course, we unplug when we are gone...no point tempting fate.
I am so glad, though, that you lost only items...as you pointed out, house fires can occur under those circumstances. I am glad you were safe. |
