I didn't see it Jimw, but I know that the next scheme to be tried by
BP has to do with cutting away some of the damaged pipe and then apply new pipe (that won't be tightly sealed) in order to catch or siphon off most of the oil now leaking into the Gulf. Perhaps the action of the robot and the subsequent explosion that you saw was the beginning of this operation. BP is in effect making all of the decisions regarding capping the well and with the clean-up. Next time you see a press conference, check out the lady Admiral, the representative of our govt., she's just a bystander, almost a cheerleader for BP. Also saw that most recent sightings suggest that the oil is now making its way into the loop current Jimw. So I look for us to begin hearing more about this in another week or 10 days (spreading toward Cuba and the Keys). |
