Tracked from the Ethiopian Highlands.
Created huge MCS's across most of Africa and spawned a large dust storm in the Sahara.
Not a lot of convection firing at the moment, but don't let that fool you.
LLC Vorticity is very strong with a persistant anti-cyclone over it.
All major Globals have genesis late this weekend at around 30 to 35W.
GFS is forecasting an anchored UL Ridge for it to spin up in and along most of its track through the Mid Atlantic.
Hardly any dust in the air south of 15N.
Latest obs at Cape Verde shows a small amount of coarse-dust in the air, no fine-dust.
Lots of moisture in the mid-levels.
No issues with water temperature.
The big questions will be track and TUTTs.
