I agree with those picks, especially the top three.
I would add New Orleans and Houston personally. I know the opening says they got severely hit and that was why they were not included.
While Galveston did get a lot of damage from Ike, Houston I don't think received much damage. I know the surge was high at the bay, but the metro area as a whole I don't think was severely impacted. I guess between Ike and Allison though it has seen its share recently, but it didn't get a Rita like storm.
As for New Orleans, Katrina was very weak in New Orleans. It was the poor levies that did a majority of the damage. New Orleans has yet to experience a powerful direct hit. Gulfport-Biloxi got severely hit, but adding New Orleans in the same breath is leaving out some important details. |
