Gaston gathering tonight

Well after being striped of convection the last few days, he's starting fire strong ball of convection over the center. The upgrade to TD or TS should occur as early as tomorrow morning. The system has vigorous large vortex and shear although not extremely favorable appears light enough to some steady strengthening during the next few days.
The only hindering factor is SAL, but this appears to be eroding and pushing north. An area od deep moisture is lurking to his south and is moving over the storm.
Gaston is on the way and he appears to be a player for the lessor antilles in a few days, as general westward track between 16N- 20N will continue. Lastest upper air pattern looks to favor a hurricane approching the central to northern islands. If the upper high builds over Gaston as forecast, we could have another Earl like storm for the eastern carib islands. He will directly affect that area. |
