I am thinking a little more on the "convective feedback".
I am not sure how well some of these models do for mesoscale development over land in conjuction with a close-by TC.
I think that is where maybe they are choking and not taking account latent heating of the land MCS into the TC.
That process will very likely happen as Matthew gets close to the Yucatan.
Afternoon heating over the Yucatan will no doubt fire some hellacious supercells.
Will be interesting to see what NAM comes up with when it gets in its forecast period.
