as a Floridian... no you are not wrong, we are used to it...

it is worth every day we live here, 365 days a year to have once in a while a storm

i heard someone say yesterday, "its good for the economy" and i winced... though true it was said in a smug way... money comes in, jobs... rebuilding, reinvesting..

either way... a category one can slide by just off shore by miles and barely be felt...
a slow moving tropical storm can make a mess

you just never know..

part of our world living in the tropics...and that extends up the coast through the carolinas to areas that often get pummeled...

i heard the other day on a trip to Daytona ..."this part of the state never gets hit from the East, only from the west" and i thought, "right.........."

again.. time will tell... this time around

you know in 1926 Miami got brushed by a storm that went up the state a bit, much like this one could... everyone was "just a tree trimmer" and then...in September.... WHAM

happens, you clean up and it's beautiful beyond words
