I just took a look at their Facebook page and looks like the NHC canceled a G-IV mission on Monday so I guess it was probably because the storm was weak:

"Monday afternoon's NOAA9 mission was canceled by the NHC. The crew returned to MacDill AFB."

I forget if there was more missions that were canceled.

Ever since I heard that the funding could be cut in the future I have been wondering if there would be any less flights to save money. I noticed the news stories about the possible funding cuts are on the front page of the NOAA Aircraft Operations Center page: http://www.aoc.noaa.gov/

I think based on the time it takes to get to the storm from the Plan of the Day that the P3s are in Tampa. 2 hours into the flight they are at their stations and another 2 hours until they reach the center.
