| At 11 PM last night, she was still a tropical storm. A strong one, but still not declared a hurricane at that point. So she has gone from TS to Cat 2 in less than 24 hours. That is pretty fast in my book -- especially for a storm that they were saying would still be a TS if it hit Florida. Charley was a major anomaly -- it's intensification was unbelievable. And it's track was poorly projected by the NHC. I am hoping that will not be the case with Irene. |
