This is the quite possibly the best chance we'll have at analyzing a Cat 4 this year ... or at least, we haven't had that opportunity thus far. I didn't realize that it needed to be scaring the bejezus out of someone in order to be interesting. Some of us love the science of it all. There are many things that make the storm interesting, including the fact that yet again, even in less hostile environs, intensity forecasting still sucks. Katia was, for example, never supposed to be a category four. If you don't want to discuss Katia, you don't have to do it, I just figured that a 115-kt. hurricane was pretty impressive in a season that has yet to see another one. It's alright, there are plenty of other venues to discuss the power and beauty of Katia.
