Alligator, thanks so much for your good wishes. I, too, hope it will go off without a hitch (even though I'm admittedly not into big weddings myself, considering them quite extravagant when there are so many other expenses facing new couples these days).
As for the Adirondacks in autumn, I'm sure it would normally be quite lovely up there, but right now we're told things are a pure mess with mud everywhere, roads and bridges washed out, etc. The rehearsal dinner venue has already had to be changed. We are on the edge of our seats hoping they have no more flash flooding - I mean, what's next? The church??
At least any of those attending who haven't seen gorgeous autumn leaves should have a treat in store. As for us, we lived in New England for 20 years so are admittedly jaded. Most of the other guests either live in the immediate area, or in NYC or New England, so I don't know that anyone will be all that impressed. But Fall is the couple's favorite time of year -- so their choice. |
