99L and other stuff ....

99L concerns me a bit, mainly due to what SAL has lead many storms to do in recent memory.  They shake off the dust around 60W, when they have stayed relatively weak, and then ramp up.  Not always the case, but we have seen this happen.

Jim's city list might really come in to play on what will likely be Ernesto in the near term.  The long term models have Florida squarely in the middle of a lot of scenarios, with some sending this system into the GOMEX.

The LLC is very well-formed.  Now obviously, many a well-formed LLC was done in by Hispaniola, and time will tell if this happens, but as of right now, my eyes are glued to this system, which is robust and comes from the classic breeding grounds.

The wave nearest us, very near Hispaniola, is also interesting to me.  Shear and subsidence, as well as land interaction are big negatives against this one, but the energy tonight is going south of the big island.  Not sure if that would even hold together, but again, this system will have Jim's city list squarely in its sights down the road.

We are at least in for a long viewing party on 99L, due to its distance, no matter what happens.
