Hello everyone. I hope everybody is staying safe !
I am looking at my local weather radar which is in Greer SC. and I can now see the first of Florence's rain bands on the eastern periphery of that radar. Greer SC if you are not aware, is in the far NW corner of SC., just a stone's throw from both Greenville and Spartanburg. Those first rain bands which could not be seen on this radar 2 hours ago, now look to me as if they are rotating rapidly in my direction, which is some 75 to 80 miles to the WNW of the Greer radar. Yes, I am a very long way from the coast, but even so, my local NWS is saying that the residents of this area should be prepared for flash flooding, winds strong enough to down trees and power lines, land slides and even small tornadoes !
