No storm surge here in the mountains, we do not live on or beneath a steep slope, our large trees are too far away from our house to fall on the house and our local river would need to rise at least 60 feet to be a danger.
We should be fine but I worry about the many people here that do not live in safe spots and I am particularly worried about the many new comers and visitors here in the mountains whom do not realize just how dangerous mountainous areas can be during storms. Many people believe the mountains are a safe haven from storms and particularly tropical storms. That simply is not the case except in regards to the storm surge.
