The northern section of the Florida east coast and Georgia rarely see any hurricane strikes. For instance only 2 hurricanes have tracked within 50 miles of Jacksonville, Florida since 1950 -- David and Dora. So, you may have a point; that if Dorian begins to swing north just a hair, it may miss this area completely and hit points further north or curve out to sea. Either way, all of Florida needs to pay close attention. |
