was when I was 22 & lived in a trailer home w/ex bf & our furnace went out. It was -40 without the wind chill, the fuel just froze in the lines. As you can imagine, heating repair co's were busy, couldn't come immediately so I went to my sister's & he stayed there. I had about 40-50 house plants at the time, which were all frozen solid, in place, not even wilted... within a short time. Also, 2 goldfish - 1 froze solid in the ice on perimeter of tank & 1 lived, staying next to the aerator in middle of tank, where water was still fluid
it was hell...
my fingers and face still get icy, almost numb in even mildly cold temps, from freezing temps when I was younger & wore rings in winter & had metal eyeglass frames
I loathe winter... will never live in MN in winter again |
