And most of those have been megathrust too. Really, the biggest !!! have to be directed at Peurto Rico. Its been 700 years since it last fully ruptured. For comparison, the area that ruptured in Japan also ruptured 1200 years ago. The tsunami deposits from that quake are very eriely similar to what happened yesterday according to a few japanese sources. |
