Another thought...why in the world is flood insurance (that we the taxpayers must pay for) even offered in such vulnerable areas? I think it is wise in places like this to do what they did on the Mississippi. Once flooded, we will pay...but it is a buy out...period. There will not be a repair or a rebuild in that area. The houses are brought down and the land returned to what is was...the delta (nature's filtration system.)

Shame on us for paying two and three times for the same location.
