I hope this becomes clearer nearer to potential landfall in the mainland U.S., but if the storm parallels either Florida coast, we would be talking about considerable evacuations in the state. Now is a good time for people to think about evacuation plans if they've never thought about it before. At the very least, do what should have been done before the season, prepare: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/prepare/ready.php
Models have undergone continued changes, so everyone in the Greater Antilles, Bahamas, U.S. East coast and U.S. Gulf coast should make sure they have a hurricane plan. This could still go anywhere.
In the northern Lesser Antilles, they should be implementing their plan.
As a reminder, people may want to fill up their tanks soon. I'm not sure how much the oil supply continues to be impacted after Harvey, but you don't want to be trying to get gas when a lot of other people are at the last minute. |
