7 miles from the Gulf of Mexico (Mississippi Sound), 5 miles from Mobile Bay, but I am 139 ft above sea level.
Winds and tornadoes are the biggest issues and some flooding, due to swamps and bayous and creeks in the neighborhood.
Very eerie that 15 years ago, the weather was just as nice as it is today, here in south Mobile County, and a week later, all hell broke loose, from a storm that much wasn't expected from, this far out. Circumstances are not the same, but it does give me pause to think about.
