I am not sure about electrical correlation with TC's; but one thing I am nearly convinced about is that tornadoes are electical related.

There is a paper that shows tornadoes show a EMI signature using a plain old simple antenna, high-impedance amplifier, and spectrum analyzer.

Look up the term: "charged-sheath vortex"
