I did find a few references to electrical properties of tropical storms, though not all are specific to hurricanes:

the last one especially caught my eye but, again, it would not let me post part of the article - same error as before Chris, something about "certain symbols", mus be the quotation marks they use in the article?  It references 3 canes from the 2005 season & their unusual electric properties.

Anyway, I actually bought on of their CDs from the Thunderbolts site, but you can also find it posted on YouTube - I found it easier to watch on a tv - very interesting.
